The TSINGTAO Badminton Asia Team Championships is a major continental team competition organized by Badminton Asia under the Badminton World Federation (BWF) umbrella. It brings together national teams from across Asia to compete in team matches — either men’s, women’s, or mixed team formats depending on the edition.
The title “TSINGTAO” comes from the event’s title sponsorship and is attached to the official tournament name.
Event Format
There are separate team editions depending on the year:
1. Men’s & Women’s Team Championships (2026)
- Held from 3–8 February 2026 in Qingdao, China at the Qingdao Conson Gymnasium.
- Teams compete in group stages followed by knockout rounds.
- Men’s ties include 3 singles and 2 doubles matches per tie.
- Women’s ties also include 3 singles and 2 doubles matches per tie.
- Each nation fields a squad of 4–10 players.
- This edition also serves as Asian qualification for the 2026 Thomas & Uber Cups (the world men’s and women’s team championships).
2. Mixed Team Championships (2025)
- The TSINGTAO Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship 2025 was held 11–16 February 2025 in Qingdao.
- Mixed ties are made up of:
- Men’s Singles
- Women’s Singles
- Men’s Doubles
- Women’s Doubles
- Mixed Doubles
- Teams nominate a minimum of 4 and up to 16 players.
